Welcome to Lua Hadar’s Voyager Project, which began with my “Roots” voyage in 2016.

This solo trek in Israel and Eastern Europe gave rise to the creation of my first short form original music video, Our Common Humanity.

Voyages in Portugal have inspired my new original music video, Saudade, debuting in May 2020.

But it is never just the physical travel that inspires. It is also the travel within one’s heart and spirit. The origins. Mine and everybody’s.

As I continue my Voyage as a human, as a Buddhist, as an artist, as a musician, as an armchair anthropologist and student of history and a galvanized activist, as a friend, as a partner, as a teacher, as a singer and fledgling songwriter, I am challenged to make meaning of what occurs in the world, filter it through my own lens, and sing it back. I have a lot to say and I was born in the form to say it in song. This is what I’m trying to do.

I also need to dare to say “writer” – my mother would be proud to hear me try that on. I’m grateful for the many responses I’ve received on my blog series Nomad Notes. It will continue.
